What is the Charlotte Solidarity Center?
The Charlotte Solidarity Center is a shared office, resource center, and work space that seeks to support grassroots social justice efforts in Charlotte. Located in Area 15 in NoDa, 514 E.15th St., Charlotte, North Carolina 28206, the Charlotte Solidarity Center will be entirely supported by grassroots organizations and individual monthly contributions. It is run and supported by volunteers – not by big budget non-profits or by any corporate giving.
Currently the Charlotte Solidarity Center offers:
- a space for meetings, events, trainings, or gatherings
- co-working area
- access to folding chairs, tables, button-makers, and other shared supplies
As they move forward, the Charlotte Solidarity Center will serve the needs of the organizing community and be a space that can help develop a stronger, more united movement for justice in Charlotte.
If you can’t make it to this event but would still like to make a donation to help support the space, please visit the link below.

Be sure to contact Kendrea Mekkah for more info on how you can come on board and support. This is what Spreading Unity Through Poetry is about!!!! Support what’s going on in your city!!!
“Please come out and share your gifts with us on Friday, March 29th, 2013 at the Charlotte Solidarity Center. We have 3 poets and a live painter that have committed. I would love to have more painters, poets, singers and musicians. I am trying to get a head count so I can put together the program today. I know Friday is busy night for everyone but it’s only 2 hours and you would be helping a great cause.
The Solidarity center connects all the major activist organizations in Charlotte and every dime raised goes to build the peoples power here in Charlotte. We will be showing some video and have a few brief presentations on the victories over this past year and upcoming activity, plus tons of bloggers and press outlets. If you can’t perform or present, please join us for a drink, on your way to that date or your Friday night gig. It’s only $5. Free if you perform of course.
Click the event and let us know you’re coming (there will be food) Contact Kendrea@inthesestreets.com, if you are interested or would like to donate; wine, beer, food, money, time and energy will all be accepted lol. Thanks in advance for your support.
